Feminist Hack Meetings: Athens, 9 and 10 of September

Femi­nist Hack Meetings (FHM) invi­tes you to a two-day works­hop in Athens, 9 and 10 of Septem­ber, at Eight (https://8athens.word­press.com/) with the theme Publis­hing and Toolings.



The work­ses­sion is part of ATNOFS: A Traver­sal Network of Femi­nist Servers, a project about inter­sec­ti­o­nal, ecofe­mi­nist servers happe­ning in 5 cities (Rotter­dam, Bucha­rest, Graz, Athens, Brus­sels) and orga­ni­zed by local groups (Varia, LURK, HYPHA, ESC, Femi­nist Hack Meetings and Cons­tant). During the Femi­nist Hack Meetings in Athens, we would like to meet and connect with femi­nist local groups, and learn/reflect/imagine toget­her, under a femi­nist lens, about our inter­ac­ti­ons with tech­no­logy as a tool for commu­ni­ca­ting, publis­hing, docu­men­ting and mapping.



Two groups will present their work and tools, and their appro­a­ches to tech­no­logy:

 

Sche­dule

9 Septem­ber: Publis­hing (decen­tri­li­zed social networks) 11:00–17:30

  • 11:00–12:00 Intro­duc­tion over coffee (Femi­nist Hack Meetings, A Traver­sal Network of Femi­nist Servers)
  • 12:00–13:00 Presen­ta­tion Word­Mord and discus­sion
  • 13:00–15:00 Lunch break (we offer vege­ta­rian/vegan lunch)
  • 15:00–17:30 Works­hops (two running in para­llel:
    • Intro­duc­tion to Fedi­verse (Masto­don + Peer­tube)
    • Migra­tion of a femi­nist Masto­don instance



10 Septem­ber: Toolings (servers, mapping, docu­men­tion) 11:00–17:30

  • 11:00–12:00 Intro­duc­tion of femi­nist servers over coffee
  • 12:00–13:00 Presen­ta­tion CNMFPP and discus­sion
  • 13:00–15:00 Lunch break (we offer vege­ta­rian/vegan lunch)
  • 15:00–17:30 Works­hops
    • 15:00–15:30 How to access a server
    • 15:30–16:30 Femi­nist tools – Specu­la­tive writing
    • 16:45–17:30 Discus­sion
