In case any of you are planning to attend the upcoming 26th Chaos
Communication Congress in Berlin Dec 27-30 I'd like to invite you to the women only breakfast get-together followed by a short set of workshops by women for women.
= Monday, Dec 28, 10am - 12 and 12 - 2pm =
Both are organised through the tiny network of female hackers within the CCC, the Haecksen. The word "Haecksen" resembles both the female hackers as well as witches - in German "Hexen", pronounced just like "Haecksen".
(For the time being the website announcements are in German but I'm
working on having that changed.)
The workshop has three parts:
* I'll be doing a short introduction to blogging and the do's and don't
of weblogs.
If there is interest (and time) I'd also like to start exchanging ideas
about why it is that the world of blogs seems to be even more exclusive to women than the real world. E.g. in the top 100 of German language blogs the first 34 are written by men.
* Christine Sontag is going to present "Cybermentor: An E-Mentoring
program for girls in MINT"
* Martina Freundorfer will introduce "GnuPG & encryption: How do I
encrypt my email"

Is anyone planning to attend the conference at all? It would be nice to
know also if you are planning to do see some other talk/workshop during our workshops.
