Anyways i've been meaning to send you two this image (find attached) for
your site. i was at the "Barcelona 1900" exhibition in the Van Gogh museum
in Amsterdam a few weeks ago, it was great. the painting is privately
owned, doesn't say by who but if you ever get the chance to see it, do.

there was a section on the industrial boom in barcelona, the culture,
extreme wealth and poverty that accompanied it. and this incredibly
detailed painting by Joan Planella - La tejedora (1882), of a young pale
girl operating a huge "modern" weaving loom. a mechanised loom that does
the job at the lightest touch. for the factory owners fantastic 'cos it
meant they could employ even cheaper labour (women and children) to do the
work!

the implications depress me, but the painting was beautifull.
